Pure Hemp Oil and Some of Its Benefits

Derived from the hemp plant and its seeds, pure hemp oil is a type of vegetable oil that can be used for cooking and preparing foods. As stated, it comes from the hemp plant, but it is not provided in a “drug” drug configuration. It is not marijuana that comes from the hemp plant. This oil consists of a low amount of saturated fat, but also contains highly useful and valuable nutrients. It has been shown to produce many important health benefits.

Fat Content
As stated, it has a low saturated fat content. One tablespoon of this oil has about 14 g of fat, with only a single gram of fat saturated. Therefore, it is a great substitute for lard, butter, and these types of animal fats.

A very important aspect of pure hemp oil is that it contains a great quantity of the essential amino acids required by the body. These acids are responsible for supporting the proteins in our bodies which help prevent muscle loss. In small dosages, hemp provides a number of vitamins and minerals, including calcium, potassium, magnesium, copper, vitamin D, vitamin B-6, and folate.

The various benefits of hemp oil include advantages pertaining to the fatty acids it contains. For example, the oil contains sitosterol which is excellent at lowering cholesterol levels. As another example, tocopherols in the oil which include antioxidant properties can help prevent cells from becoming damaged. In addition, inflammation blood clots can be addressed effectively and the risk of cancer reduced with the use of hemp oil that contains a 3-to-1 ratio of omega three fatty acids to omega six fatty acids. These powerful acids can also promote the normal functioning activity of the brain.

Adding Hemp Oil to Your Food
You may also want to consider adding hemp oil to your food. The oil has a nutty flavor can be added in substitute for olive oil. As the oil is heated above 160°, however, some of its quality and flavor will be reduced. Therefore it is not recommended for use when frying foods.

Hemp Oil for Your Pet
Pets can also benefit from hemp oil. It has a reputation for addressing conditions such as aggression and mood issues and pets. The oil affects magnesium in the body which is known for its relaxation effects in the body. Other benefits can include those involving the metabolism and the supply of antioxidants.
