One of the best ways to have a trouble free move is to keep everything organized and orderly. The nest way to do this is to come up with a checklist that helps you keep your move on track so you do not get stressed out or wait until the last minute to get things done. From getting moving boxes to remembering to schedule your electricity to be shut off, there are many important things that need to take place during a move in Minnesota. Having everything organized will help you remember all that you need to do.

Make a Checklist for Before and After Your Move

Having a checklist of everything you need to get done before, during and after your move will help ensure that you don’t forget anything important and get everything done in a timely manner.

 * Write Things Down – write everything down so you don’t forget it. You will want to make sure you know the exact moving day so you can get all of your utilities shut off or transferred and get your mail forwarded. If you are using a professional mover you will need to have your shipment registration number and information along with a contact number in case you need to get in touch with your movers or have questions about your shipment.

 * Get Plenty of Rest – even though there are many things that need to be done during a move it is very important that you get the right amount of rest. It may be tempting to stay up late to get some extra packing done but this will not do anyone any good if you end up too exhausted to function on moving day. The night before your move get to bed early so you feel refreshed the next day.

 * Keep Your Fridge Fresh – once you have cleaned out your fridge you can put some baking soda or coffee grounds in a sock and place it inside the fridge to keep is smelling fresh during your move.

 * Pack Your Boxes Right – make sure you pack your moving boxes correctly, with heavier items going into smaller boxes and larger, lighter things going into the bigger boxes. It is important for all the boxes to be easily carried and not too heavy.

 * Pack a Basics Box – it is a good idea to have one box that is full of essential basics such as soap, toilet paper, toiletries, coffee, paper plates and cups and paper towels. Label the box well so that you have easy access to some necessary basics once you arrive at your new Minnesota home.
